Well this is reassuring to me that it will remain basically as is beyond event days. So it makes perfect sense to me as a type of storage. So I can now get an extra 10 or so slots for storage of other things cause I don't have to hold on to old hats. I think that is the point really. So for that I thank you very much Arenanet.

Based on the comments above, you and I just saved about 7 storage slots then. For those players who were obsessive about collecting them, that could be as much as a brand new storage full.
Thanks A-Net!

Nope - I tried it and they do not.
I even tried to get my warrior to copy a hat that was in storage for my necro - and the NPC wouldn't let me do it. I had to log off, log onto my necro, and have her do it.

Same here, but I will probably go ahead and trash them for the extra storage space (since it's so cheap to do all three, unless it's black)...

I wont trash the ones I have.....or the new ones I have just gotten----10g may not be alot but when you start talking about 10characters and 10 different hats....then peanuts are a bit bigger.......
this is not storage. like someone said earlier its a copy shop. I am happy that some of my characters can get the older hats, but unhappy that I will have to pay to get them again if I delete them for space issues.....guess one of my semi-mules has just become a permanent one.
Now on that same vein.....we have been requesting armor storage, are they just going to do the same thing with that too???? This is more a work around that a fix (like duct tape on the plumbing instead of buying a new pipe)...it works (to a point), but it was not what we were expecting....
so A for effort, D- for follow thru.

mmmmm wondering if Gaile is a Developer or a Psycologist ???
So now it appears that if you are unhappy about somthing in the game you have a problem and it has nothing to do with the game.
LOL yea right rofl
As for the update I think it's great,Don't have to spend another 24 hours in front of my pc to get hats for all my toons
Thanks Anet oh and leave the Psycology to the pro's.

In both LA and Kamadan, there will be a new Festival Hat NPC.
The Festival Hat person will help you in this way. He will be able to copy your seasonal hats and share them with all characters on your account.

Haven't read all of this topic but... Am I the only one bothered that ANET HAS NOT ADDED THIS NPC TO CANTHA?!?!

Are the npcs going to stay perminently or are they only here for the festivitys?
I hope this years Wintersday hats are the same as last years(unlike the halloween ones), cause last year Anet kept Wintersday quiet (i even checked the site 2 days before incase there was an event with no mention of it) until it was too late, i was on holiday and if i had known about the event i would have found away online just to get the helms :'(

Neither. She's a community relations manager.

She's right. Where's the Wintersday spirit? Stop complaining already. There were some problems right at the start, but they were fixed in an instant. (They probably had to call people out of bed to get it fixed)
I love this event, even better than last year!

When dealing with a community that eats sour grapes for breakfast everyday, she needs to be a woman of many talents
Also, if someone expected armor storage, it's their own fault if they got disappointed, ANet specifically mentioned holiday items, not armor in general. And the implementation is actually really clever. Look at it this way, if they would have given a holiday storage tab (similar to materials) with, say, 15 slots, somebody would have more hats than that and complain about the lack of storage space. Now that we have the Xerox copy center, you can get rid of ALL of the hats no matter how many you have. Unless you like running around 24/7 with your head inside a pumpkin, you can just pop 10g whenever you need that headgear for a special event. Sounds more than reasonable to me.
And what's this complaining about not being able to copy hats of the events you didn't attend? It would be really odd if it did work that way, if you ask me. You, as a player, attend such and such events and get such and such hats to show for it. Call it a souvenir if you will. And no, I'm not typing this because I already have all types of hats myself, I'm actually missing 3.

I never "need" a hat at any particular time, I'm not going to travel around the world when I feel like wearing my Yule Cap, I think this implementation is nice for the fact that any character can have any hat. However the only time I'm going to wear a special hat is when I'm not doing anything productive, ie, I can't be stuffed going to Kamadan/LA just to pay 10 gold for a hat and then map back, only to go afk.
I hardly consider this a "storage" improvement, there's no incentive for me to delete all my hats and then get them back when I "need" them. I might as well delete the hats and never wear them again.
How about having a command similar to /bonus, so you just type the name of the hat you want and receive it immediately without having to leave your spot? Then delete it when you're not using it.
